Senator Wielechowski offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, line 2, following "registration;": Insert "relating to vehicle registration fees for members of the Alaska National Guard;" Page 2, following line 24: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 4. AS 28.10.411 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 2014-04-21 Senate Journal Page 2705 (g) A person who presents satisfactory proof of current membership in the Alaska National Guard is entitled to an exemption from the registration fee required under this section for one vehicle subject to registration under AS 28.10.421(b)(1), (2), or (5). An exemption may not be granted except upon written application for the exemption on a form prescribed by the department." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Senator Wielechowski moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator McGuire objected. Senator Wielechowski moved and asked unanimous consent to withdraw Amendment No. 1. With objection, Amendment No. 1 was withdrawn. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the bill be advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered. CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 19(RLS)(efd am) was read the third time. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the vote on the passage of the bill be considered the vote on the effective date clause. Without objection, it was so ordered and the bill was signed by the President and Secretary and returned to the House.
